Rehabilitation plays an integral role in the care and management of spinal injuries whether they are being treated surgically or managed medically.
The aim of neurological rehabilitation is to focus on pain control, neurological retraining and facilitating early return of function.
Common conditions of the spine include:
- IVDD – intervertebral disc disease;
- Lumbosacral disease;
- Caudal cervical spondylomyelopathy – wobbler disease;
- Degenerative myelopathy – DM; and
- Fibrocartilagenous embolism – FCE or stroke.
